There are many reasons why GN residents should go to the upcoming Master Transportation Open House and let the City know what you think about the commuting cars & trucks passing through our Glenbrooke North area twice a day. During the two rush hours, cars idling worsen our air quality. Our neighbourhood streets are blocked with idling cars so we can't use them. If Translink builds the $1 Billion proposed 6 lane Pattullo Bridge without the infrastructure to move the cars efficiently out of our city, traffic problems will increase through our neighbourhood and throughout the whole of New Westminster.
The City of New Westminster is hosting another Master Transportation Plan Open House with a focus on the vision and goals of the plan. The City is also seeking community input on the proposed replacement of the Pattullo Bridge.
The updated Master Transportation Plan will guide decision-making for transportation in New Westminster over the next 25 years and beyond by recommending improvements for all modes of transportation, including walking, cycling, public transit, goods movement, and vehicles. Be part of the process and talk to City Staff & Officials about the Pattullo Bridge and insist Translink engage in community consultation.
